ChoiceMMed 50 (LH) Ovulation & 10 (HCG) Pregnancy Test Strips

ChoiceMMed 50 (LH) Ovulation & 10 (HCG) Pregnancy Test Strips

Detects the presence of human chorionic gonadotropin (“HCG”), which appears in urine very early in pregnancy. Regardless of the technical language, this test works just like most other pregnancy tests out there. It measures the levels of the pregnancy hormone human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) in your urine. This hormone is produced by the cells of the embryo that will later form the placenta. The level of HCG starts to increase from its basal level of less than 5 mIU/mL directly after implantation, and doubles about each 48 hours during the first weeks of pregnancy.

One Step LH Urine Ovulation Test is a self-performing immunochromatographic one step assay designed for in vitro qualitative determination of human Luteinizing hormone (LH) in urine to predict when there is LH surge, and in turn, when you are likely to ovulate.

Features:
All tests FDA approved and over 99% accuracy

Will work 5 days before your missed period Earliest detection, greatest sensitivity level – 25 mIU/mL

They are doing exactly what they are supposed to. I started testing around 6 days into my cycle and the test lines were pretty faint. Then on day 13 the test line got significantly darker, although not as dark as the control line. On day 14, the lines were finally equal. I tested a.m. and p.m. on day 12, 13, and 14 of my cycle. Day 14 p.m. test line was the one that was as dark as the control line. They say, when using ovulation strips, to test morning and night to make sure you don’t miss the surge of LH in case it’s a super short window. I just tested morning and night when I saw my lines getting darker. If you start testing at the beginning of your cycle and the lines start to get fainter, don’t worry. Keep testing every day. That’s what happened to me and then all of sudden on day 13 they started getting dark again. Test lines show up pretty quickly. Start to see within just a couple of minutes and then darken over the next few.
Update: just used the pregnancy test and it gave me a light positive. Tested with a First Response Digital shortly after and it read pregnant!! I’m only 11 dpo.

Having PCOS, it has been crucial for me to monitor when (or if) I ovulate in order for me to have a baby. These have been wonderful in tracking ovulation, and I have seen a definite clear line during my time of ovulation, and a faint red line when I am not ovulating. I have read that these tests can be unreliable if you have PCOS, so I feel that I should add a disclaimer that I have been able to maintain a lot of my PCOS symptoms through Metformin and not eating sugar, which has helped regulate my once irregular periods. If you are still having irregular periods with PCOS, I cannot confirm whether these will provide you with accurate results.

I did manage to get pregnant (but unfortunately miscarried) and the pregnancy test did show a faint red line confirming the pregnancy. I will continue to use these in hopes for a viable pregnancy, as they have been very reliable and easy to use.

All in all, these products have worked great and I love the price point as well as the amount of the test strips available.

Update:. Tested with a different brand next cycle, and as suspected, these are not as sensitive. Got a clear positive with store brand, not so clear with this. Got pregnant that cycle with the help of a different brand. So unless you know your LH surge is high, avoid these. They never got dark until I was already pregnant.

I will change the rating if I find a different result next cycle. Basically I had a miscarriage in July at 9 weeks, and started using these strips to get an idea of when ovulation occurred. My HCG returned to zero pretty immediately following the MC, so I figured within 2 weeks of bleeding stopping, I would ovulate. I started testing right away. At the time my cervical mucus changed indicating ovulation, the LH line slowly faded in. However, it never once got as dark as the test line. Only maybe about 60% for one day (testing twice daily at that point). I wasn’t even sure I had ovulated, though within 12-24 hours I started to have cramps as if I were ovulating. The next day, the strip was clearly negative. Now we are 12-14 days later and I have started my cycle just like clockwork, as if I had ovulated normally. I suspect these strips are not sensitive at all unless you have a huge LH surge. I am getting hormone testing just to be sure everything is functioning normally, especially since I had a MC recently. I plan to purchase a more well known brand and use both for next cycle, as I am now 35 years old and don’t want to waste precious time by missing an ovulation over defective strips. Just to clarify, my cycles are 28 days on the dot and very regular before the MC.
